Even Jesus prayed without words

Mark 7:34 (NKJV) “Then, looking up to heaven, He [Jesus] sighed, and said to him, ‘Ephphatha,’ that is, ‘Be opened.'”

Here, long before Paul’s teaching that when we do not know what to pray, that the Holy Spirit prays for us in moans that we cannot understand (Romans 8:26), Jesus Himself utters a wordless prayer – only a sigh in fact.

This does not mean that He did not know what to pray (as implied in Paul’s teaching). But be of good cheer that when you indeed do not know what to pray, wordless sighs are sufficient.

my name is darryl
and this is what i have to say

PS – Jesus’ wordless sigh was sufficient enough even to heal

About Darryl Schoeman

My Personal Life : challenge leads to thought and thought leads to change More than the Apostle Paul, I can say that I am the chief of sinners (really really really). But I love God and I love the Bible. So I try to live my life with the constant realisation that God is PERMANENTLY with me (yes even when I sin), and seek His presence in everything that I do (except when I sin) and in everything that happens. I share this with others so that they too can believe it and then seek to live it.
