Aliens are real

Indisputable evidence has been found to substantiate the many claims that aliens have been and are currently living among us. From the movies ‘Independence Day’ to ‘Transformers 3’ to the latest ‘Apollo 18’, all have made the claim about the existence of aliens, yet each have disagreed with exactly what they look like; from long legged tentacled parasitic like creatures, to robotic organisms, to moon rock spiders, each has portrayed a form of creature that it claims is the ‘truth’ as to why we haven’t gone back to the moon (not to mention the whole never-landed-on-the-moon conspiracy).

Well the truth is not that ‘out there’ (as the X-Files would claim) and you don’t have to go where no one has gone before (as Star Trek would have you believe), for the truth is far closer to home than you could ever imagine (and quite frankly, far more believable). This then here is the truth:

Hebrews 11:13 and 1 Peter 2:11 are the clearest on this (taken from the NIV):
“… And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.” & “Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.”

You see!!! YOU are the alien. You are the one who is passing through this world on your way to another (eternity). You don’t need to be chasing the stars and listening for radio frequencies from far off places – you’re wasting your time. The plain and simple truth has been staring us in the face for thousands of years, but we just don’t want to accept it. We WANT to believe that there is something else out there. We WANT to believe that something else has been created by a god-type entity or formed through natural selection, because then we can discard the Bible as an authority. When we do that, then we are justifiably allowed to render our own course of action and determine our own ‘truths’, because then there is no longer an authoritative framework from which to derive truth.

Now some of you might say that this is very simplistic escapist Christian article that seemingly denies the “evidence”. That it is simplistic, I will not dispute; sometimes we humans like to complicate matters more than they really need to be. That it is escapist is a matter of opion, but I rest my case on Area 51 (Independence Day) and the more recent ‘found footage’ “documentary” Apollo 18, and wonder who is really trying to escape the truth and reality.

I would rather view it as being ‘submitist’ – that is submitted to the Bible, either as a complete account of all there is to know or necessary to know.

In closing, the space shuttle travels at 17,500 mph (28,000 km/h) once in space. At this speed, it would take more than 168 THOUSAND years to reach our closest star Aplha Centauri (not our sun). If extra-terrestrial life did indeed exist, God has made it (seemingly) virtually impossible for us to reach them. Which begs the question of should we even be trying!! Or should we rather be focusing on what we DO know – Jesus is coming back soon and there is a very real and close world filled with MILLIONS of aliens who are going to die if they are not told the truth of His saving grace. Please stop wasting your energy, whether it be social or intellectual, chasing after fantasies; know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32).

Open Letter to Mrs Borman. ANC member of parliament.

Dear Mrs. Borman,

I like you am a member and worship at the same church in Durban. Manning Road Methodist Church.

This coming Wednesday the Protection of State Information bill comes before you, for you to vote. You must be aware of the contentious clauses contained therein that have been raised, by NGO’s, civil society, the official opposition, the press, foreign governments and even from within your own political party. This is virtually the last area of our South African democracy that keeps you and your political colleagues accountable to the public that voted you into parliament.

Currently, every major department within the criminal justice system has been politicised in your political party’s favour, from the highest court in our land, to the South African Police Force. I accept that as a democracy your party has the right to do this, but, it is patently clear to any intelligent person in South Africa that portions of this Protection of Information Bill, that you will be voting on, is being introduced only to protect those members of your political party from accusations of crime and defrauding all the citizens of South Africa.

Nobel laureate Nadine Gordimer has accused your party of taking South Africa beyond apartheid with this bill. Surely, you as a devote Christian who is married to a retired Methodist minister can see the damage that this bill will do to our democracy.

I am aware that there are good members of the ANC that are working towards the improvement of the lives of all South Africa, but I am also well aware that there are members of the ANC who are only there for self enrichment.

My question to you is, “How will you vote?”.

My opinion of you is that you are a lady of principal and I would be surprised if you cannot see the faults in this piece of legislation.

On Wednesday I will reflect on the bible story of the crucifixion of Jesus, and ask, “How many pieces of silver does it take to betray the people of South Africa”

On Thursday maybe you will have an answer for me.

What will you be doing? Personally, I’ll be blinking and breathing, but most likely eating something. But there are some, who will at that very moment in time, at 11 seconds past 11 minutes past 11 o’clock on Friday the 11th day of the 11th month of 2011, be doing a whole lot more than just merely living.

According to a newspaper article that I read, some will be waiting for some sort of mystical opening to occur between this world and … well something else. The challenge for these folks of course is which 11:11:11 11/11/11 is the one that is going to be the “correct” one that leads to the portal’s opening? Is it 11:11:11 11/11/11 South African time or London time? What about 11:11:11 11/11/11 New York Time? Or Australian time? The bigger question of course is how do they know this? And, who told the portal – does IT know it’s supposed to be opening? Was it a sense of reason, peace, or hype, that made them conclude this? My only comment is, “Mmmm!! Interesting.”

Then there are others who believe that the human race is going to undergo a mystical awakening (change of consciousness) of some sort, and so have agreed to sit down at 11:11:11 11/11/11 GMT wherever they are physically in the world, and focus their collective energies into … … well again I don’t really know what. They believe that somehow, the repetition of the number 1 (or 11) has the power, means, or ability to make the human race be different. Call me a sceptic, party pooper, or downright dooms day prophet, but it just ain’t gonna happen.

The plain and simple reason is that it’s just another day, hour, minute, second. And it’ll be over in the blink of an eye. And the caterpillars in my son’s ice-cream container will continue eating at the leaves that we are feeding them.

Now it IS true that one day a portal will be opening up between this world and the spiritual world, and Jesus will descend from Heaven with His angels, to usher in the beginning of eternity (see 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). But that day is not going to be 11:11:11 11/11/11. How do I know? Well, if Jesus doesn’t even know when it’s going to be (See Mark 13:32-33), then I somehow doubt that God is going to make us know when that day and hour is going to be.

And another thing! You don’t have to wait for 11:11:11 11/11/11 – be it this century (2011) or the next (3011) – to sit down and meditate so that humanity can be changed. You can start right now. All you have to do is read the Bible and pray. Psalm 1 says that when we meditate (prayerfully ponder) on the Word of God, then we become firm and strong and rooted like trees, and we bear much fruit, prospering in everything that we do. I guarantee you that if you are bearing fruit, then people are going to want to partake of it. And when that happens, humanity is being changed for the good.

So don’t waste your time meditating on a number (and thereby making an idol of it). Read God’s Word and pray. And then be the consciousness change that God wants you to be.
